Our challenge was to alter something that we have around our home, To make something old look new. As it was rather cold today I went to make myself a cup of tea and that was that. I unassembeled the box, traced around it on the back side of a patterned paper , then cut out the pattern adheared it to the box.I used a Martha Stewart decorative punch to cut border strips for the sides of the box..A blue gingham ribbon is tied around the top of the box. Front and center I cut an oval from Cricuts George Cartridge.A Quickutz teapot was a perfect addition.Precious Pieces Pattern # Cocoa Bear which I pop-dotted gives my little tea box a girly feeling. Is so says Cindy's Tea. I can hardly wait for Monday so I can take it to work.

This is the third in this Tag Series. It is titled You and me.The tag is 8 inches tall. Two bears are featured on this tag. They could be brothers, sisters, friends, or a brother sister duo.A small butterfly has landed on the little bears hand. The larger bear is admiring a flower. The larger bear is pop- dotted so it looks like he is standing infront of the little bear.To add depth to the tag I added these adorable little flowers. I purchased them at Walmart in the scrapbooking section for 99 cents. The also had little birds on the sticker.Precious Piecing Patterns used on this tag were # 401 Butterfly Kisses and # 425 Flower for Mama Bear.Cricut's Base Camp was used for the title. Pen and ink detailing as well as chalking .To finish the tag off I used yellow ric rac .This completes. The Friends Tag series. More Tag Series to follow.

This memo board was designed to help me become a little bit more organized. It hangs just inside my kitchen door. I used index cards to keep track of my daily commitments. I also have a monthly calender for planning purposes. and lastly I have a post it note pad for my shopping list and daily reminders. I used Bazzill lg Brads The ribbon, flower and button for the flower center all came from my studio stash The adorable frog button I purchased at A.C.Moore

I altered this old photo frame by adding a layout inside. On the outside I attatched with velcro the Precious Piecings Pattern #758 Kid Girl sit and fish. Because I used velcro when I want to change out the layout I can remove the girl fishing and add a new element to fit the new theme. The tags in the frame can be for photos of your catch, journaling or maybe one BIG fish tale of your adventure. Making something old look new is what Altered Art is all about. Look around your home I'm sure you can find something that needs a refreshing new look . Have fun with it.

The patterns I used were Precious piecings #443 moose baby, and 647 flower skunk.
The tag is 8 inches tall.
I tore paper for the grass. I just love paper tearing don't be afraid of it just have fun with it.
Both the moose and the skunk are pop dotted to add dimension..
I cut the word Friends on the Cricut.
To finish it off I did some pen and ink detailing. This gets easier the more you do it.
Finally I chalked it.
